Custom Insulated Cooler Bag Materials

We use PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) materials for our outdoor products. These two fabrics are extremely durable, leak-proof, and of the highest quality. PVC is a tough plastic with excellent tensile strength and is weather, abrasion, and corrosion resistant. TPU, on the other hand, is highly flexible and easy to mold. It is also resistant to oil and grease.

How do Cooler Bags work?

Most cooler bags have multiple layers of insulation. They usually have an outer layer, a honeycomb lining, and a middle layer that provides insulation. The most important layer is the middle layer because without it, cooler bags are no different from a regular lunch box.

The foam layer prevents heat from leaking through to the outer layer and prevents the surrounding cold or heat from entering the bag's components. You may notice that when filled with heated items, the outside of a protected lunch bag does not get hot because the heat is prevented from dissipating in the environment.

As an additional layer of defense, many shielded cooler bags come with an inner or honeycomb lining made of aluminum foil, thick vinyl or plastic that is waterproof and heat reflective.
